Initiated as the Sri Lanka Association of Dermatologists (SLAD), proved to be a success from the onset.
Sri Lanka joined the South Asian Regional Association of Dermatologists (SARAD) as a founder member.
SLAD was officially converted to a College in May 2005, and came to known as Sri Lanka College of Dermatologists.
With this name change in June 2024, now it is officially Sri Lanka College of Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine.
